KNG199ICW temperature settings and controls

Factory setting, adjustment range and in-use control limits for KNG199ICW.

Covered models: KNG199ICW

Default, range and scald risk

The factory default is 116°F and the setting range is 95–140°F. Higher temperature increases scald risk. Read the manual’s temperature warnings before changing settings; a higher setting is not a cure for an unresolved fault.

Normal temperature controls

With power ON, hold ENTER for three seconds until the set temperature flashes, then use the arrow keys to change it. With the burner on, pressing ENTER shows the set temperature. This ENTER action edits or displays temperature; it is not the POWER-button fault reset.

Burner-on adjustment limits

With the burner OFF and appliance ON, the manual permits 95–140°F. With the burner ON and a current setting below 122°F, adjustment is locked to 95–122°F. If the setting is above 122°F, it can be changed within 95–140°F; lowering it below 122°F locks the range to 95–122°F. The manual does not clearly state the boundary behavior at exactly 122°F. Do not try to bypass the control restriction.
