Compare water heaters
Both heaters need natural gas. Pick the KNG199ICW for higher efficiency if you can add a condensate drain, or the KNG199INW for the lower price. Neither is the best fit for every home.

KNG199ICW cabinet dimensions are taken from the Physical Dimensions & Components drawing in its installation manual. Exhaust and intake couplers plus gas and water connections extend beyond the cabinet, so the cabinet size is not the installed envelope and is not a clearance allowance. KNG199INW dimensions are from the Kings Peak store listing. See the KNG199ICW dimension drawing.
KNG199ICW may suit you if…
- Higher efficiency (0.96 UEF) is a priority
- Installations where a condensate drain is available
Keep in mind
- Higher upfront equipment cost
- Needs a condensate drain and the vent type specified in the manual
KNG199INW may suit you if…
- Lower upfront equipment cost
- Homes where venting for a non-condensing unit is practical
Keep in mind
- Non-condensing units need venting rated for their exhaust; confirm the vent type in the manual
- Lower efficiency (0.82 UEF) than the condensing model
What does UEF mean?
UEF (Uniform Energy Factor) is a standardized measure of water-heater energy efficiency. Higher ratings indicate greater efficiency under standardized test conditions. Your actual gas cost depends on your usage and local rates, so we don't quote a fixed savings amount.
How much hot water will I get?
Delivered flow depends on how cold your incoming water is and the temperature rise you need. Both models have the same 199,000 BTU input, so their capacity is similar; efficiency is what differs.
